Fire and water have no feeling, but people do. Since the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po on 26 November, our volunteers had stayed close to the residents affected by it. On 9 December 2025, hearing that some of them were now living at Kai Fuk Court transit housing and running short of supplies, we went straight there.

Looking after a community means looking after the natural world too. On 7 December 2025 our volunteers headed out of the city to the Gold Coast in Tuen Mun for a beach clean-up that tested everyone. The sea wind had a bite to it, but the moment our volunteers reached the sand they were away.

They look after the city; we wanted to look after them. On 2 December 2025 our volunteers ran an outreach built entirely around saying thank you. The fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po left us in no doubt about what firefighters do on the front line. To say so properly, we put together a substantial supply of energy drinks and energy bars and took them to the fire station.

On 30 November 2025, after the fire at Kwong Fuk Estate, our team set up a temporary supply point on the estate platform for the residents caught up in it. That day the air on the platform still held everything that had not yet lifted — the weight of it, the grief. And at the same time, it held a remarkable amount of kindness. Disaster has no feeling; people do.

A good end to November, and Yuen Long got another round of it. On 30 November 2025 our volunteers were back at Phone Factory for a distribution of 150 care packages. Supplies aside, the person everyone had their eye on was the proprietor — a man who gives his money and his time without being asked, and who is, by universal agreement, as good-looking as he is kind.

Straight back out. On 27 November 2025, after the emergency work of the previous day, our volunteers returned to familiar ground — Wah Yuen Noodles in Yuen Long — for another round of care package distribution. The team arrived in uniform and got straight into it: shifting supplies, counting packages, setting up the queue.

On 22 November 2025 LucaBridge's outreach reached a new stop. The team went first to Tin Yan Estate, prioritising the elderly residents there and getting practical support to the households that needed it. The mood on the day was excellent. Alongside a large turnout of volunteers, a good number of children volunteered too.

Round two of the groundwork. On 19 November 2025 our volunteers moved straight on to Tin Wah Estate in Tin Shui Wai to open registration for the 22 November distribution, working on the principle that nobody gets left off the list. Registration only, in theory — but the residents of Tin Wah Estate turned out in force, and a queue formed early.

Getting the groundwork right. On 15 November 2025 our volunteer team headed into Tin Shui Wai, to Tin Yan Estate, to begin registration for the distribution to come. This was more than an administrative exercise — it was our first proper contact with the residents of Tin Yan Estate.
